Details of operation

Prevention and control of chronic (metabolic) illnesses

  • Purpose : To comprehensively prevent and control chronic (metabolic) illnesses of local residents in order to prevent diseases and encourage people to recognize the importance of health and to continuously manage their condition
  • Date & time : 9:00-12:00 weekdays, 9:00-12:00 2nd Saturday for April through December
  • Users : Local residents in the jurisdiction over the age of 20
  • Location : Chronic Illness Control Center, 1st floor
  • Program details
    • New subjects : Examination for chronic (metabolic) illnesses and writing of basic surveys
    • Follow-up management : Provision of health management services based on classification of subjects
    • Examination items : Blood collection, measurement of body composition and blood pressure → Health counseling for exercising and nutrition → Visit schedule reservation
  • Preparation items : Fasting from 10 PM the day before; phone reservation in advance
  • Fee : No charge

Education on exercise and nutrition

  • Purpose : To conduct education on exercise and nutrition in order to practice healthy living and to prevent and control chronic illnesses, contributing to providing motivation and increasing the level of awareness about health
  • Participants : Local residents in the jurisdiction who receive examinations at the Chronic Illness Control Center
  • Location : Strong Health and Energy Space on 2nd floor
  • Program details
    • Physical exercise training (13:30-16:00 every Tuesday and Thursday)
      • Education on warm-ups and stretching that can be practiced in daily life
      • Muscle strength exercise program utilizing own weight and simple tools
    • Nutrition training (14:00-16:00 every other Wednesday)
      • Education on how to write a food journal for formation of proper eating habits
      • Education on how to practice a food lifestyle that improves the ability to manage nutrition

Health promotion by resident participation

  • Purpose : To support proactive participation of local residents and set up an atmosphere for resident-participation programs to find tangible solutions to health issues of neighborhoods and ultimately to improve the level of health in the community
  • Date & time : 10:00-12:00, 3rd Wednesday of every month
  • Participants : All local residents in the jurisdiction
  • Method : Discovering local health agenda items and proposed programs, preparing solutions, etc.
  • Process: Completion of a fostering program → Participation in monthly meetings and sharing of opinions → Planning and insertion into community → Results feedback

    • Execution of health leader development training to form an organization of health leaders
    • Operation of a health leader small group to draw and solve health issues in the village
    • Strengthening of competency and operation of health programs to solve health issues in the village

Prevention of child and teenager obesity

  • Purpose : Operating education and counseling programs to prevent child and teenager obesity, which continues to rise due to excessive consumption of calories and lack of exercise, and seek healthy growth and development
  • Date & time : 14:30-17:30 on every Friday
  • Participants : Children, teenagers and parents who are local residents in the jurisdiction
  • Method : Individual exercise and nutrition counseling conducted based on the results of basic evaluation
